Strikes Disrupt Power Supply in Energodar Near Nuclear Plant
Power outages hit Energodar near the Zaporozhskaya nuclear plant after strikes damage infrastructure, while repair crews face ongoing attacks.
Power outages have hit Energodar, a city located near the Zaporozhskaya nuclear power plant — the largest in Europe — following strikes by Ukrainian forces. According to Mayor Maksim Pukhov, the situation is being further осложнена by targeted attacks on repair crews.
Pukhov reported that efforts to restore electricity are facing serious difficulties due to ongoing shelling. He indicated that Ukrainian armed formations are deliberately preventing crews from carrying out repair work on damaged infrastructure.
Residents have been urged to limit movement around the city where possible.
The mayor specified that a high-voltage power line supplying the city was damaged in the attacks. Despite the risks, specialists are working to reconnect Energodar to backup power sources.
In a separate incident, shelling caused the roof of a private house to collapse. No injuries were reported.
