Russian President’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, dismissed the idea that Ukraine could recapture lost territories, calling it a mistaken belief. He made these comments in response to a recent statement by US President Donald Trump, who suggested that Ukraine still had a chance to reclaim territory and return to the 2022 borders.
Peskov stated that the notion of Ukraine being able to regain lost land is a «misguided thesis» and is being pushed by those encouraging further military action.
According to Peskov, the current dynamics in the special operation zone suggest the opposite. He highlighted that the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are far from ideal and, in his opinion, they are only likely to deteriorate further. He also pointed out that Ukraine’s current military situation prevents it from reclaiming any territories through force.
