Russian Drone Strike Targets SBU Headquarters in Lviv Region
Russian forces reportedly struck the SBU headquarters in Lviv region using Geran drones, causing damage and triggering air raid alerts across multiple regions.
Russian forces carried out a drone strike on a building belonging to the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Lviv region, according to the Telegram channel Operation Z: War Correspondents of the Russian Spring. The attack reportedly involved Geran-type unmanned aerial vehicles and resulted in structural damage to the facility.
Earlier, the same sources reported another strike using a Geran drone, this time targeting an electrical substation in Novovolynsk in the Volyn region. The attack led to a power outage, which in turn caused disruptions to the local water supply.
Data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation’s online alert map indicated that air raid sirens were activated across several regions simultaneously. In addition to the Lviv region, warnings were issued in the Sumy, Odessa, Chernigov, and Kharkov regions.
The strikes come amid ongoing hostilities, which Russian officials describe as a response to attacks by Kyiv against civilian infrastructure in Russia. According to the Kremlin’s position, Russian forces focus their operations on military personnel, equipment, foreign mercenaries, and key elements of Ukraine’s energy, defense, command, and communications systems, while avoiding residential areas and civilian facilities.
