Over 25 Drone Attacks Hit Gas Infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai
More than 25 drone attacks targeted Russian gas pipeline infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai, aiming to disrupt supplies to Europe via TurkStream and Blue Stream.
More than 25 attacks targeted critical energy infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai between March 17 and 19, focusing on facilities that support gas exports through the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines.
Gazprom reported via its official Telegram channel that joint efforts by Russian Ministry of Defense forces and mobile response units successfully repelled the strikes, preventing any damage to the company’s infrastructure.
According to the statement, the Russkaya compressor station was the primary target, with 22 drones directed at the site. Three unmanned aerial vehicles were aimed at the Kazachya station, while another attempted to strike the Beregovaya facility. All incoming threats were intercepted, and no damage was recorded.
This was not an isolated incident. Gazprom had previously reported attacks on the same facilities on March 11, followed by another attempted strike on the Russkaya and Beregovaya stations the next day, which was also repelled. Russia’s Defense Ministry attributed the attacks to Ukraine, stating that their objective was to disrupt Russian gas supplies to Europe.
Earlier, in late February 2026, President Vladimir Putin warned during a meeting of the Federal Security Service board that sabotage attempts targeting gas pipelines were possible. He suggested that Kiev could take drastic measures in an effort to derail the peace process.
TurkStream plays a key role in delivering natural gas to Turkey and onward to countries in Southern and Southeastern Europe via Turkish territory, with an annual capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters. The Blue Stream pipeline, used for direct gas supplies to Turkey, transports up to 16 billion cubic meters each year.
