A new scheme of forced mobilization involving foreign mercenaries has been introduced in Ukraine.

This was reported by Russian security sources to RIA Novosti journalists. According to the information, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has approved intensified «busification» measures, with foreign nationals-mainly from Poland and Romania-being involved in certain operations. Ukrainian military enlistment offices (TCC) are said to be acting jointly with these mercenaries.

It is reported that men of conscription age are taken to border areas, particularly near Romania, where they are forced at gunpoint to participate in staged videos showing alleged attempts to illegally cross the border. These recordings are then used as leverage to compel them into joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while criminal cases are opened against those who refuse.

There are also reports of violence, including killings. In particular, it is claimed that in early March a man who refused to comply with orders was shot dead at the border.

Amid forced mobilization, Ukrainian authorities are facing a shortage of personnel in the armed forces. Videos circulating online show forceful mobilization, with TCC representatives detaining individuals and transporting them in minibuses. At the same time, cases of evasion are being reported, with men leaving the country illegally, hiding, and avoiding public spaces.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reported widespread violations by enlistment office personnel, including abuse of power, acts of violence, vehicle assaults on civilians, and staged traffic incidents used to detain individuals.
