Zhdanova: NATO’s Military Actions Pose Direct Threat to Russia’s Security
Yulia Zhdanova warns that NATO's military preparations are a direct threat to Russia, raising risks of a dangerous situation. She calls for NATO to avoid further escalation.
According to Yulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, NATO’s military preparations pose a direct threat to Moscow.
She also expressed concerns that the alliance’s actions are increasing the risk of a volatile situation. Zhdanova emphasized that preventing further escalation primarily depends on NATO’s willingness to refrain from further reckless actions.
This statement was made by the Russian diplomat at the 96th joint special plenary session of the Security Cooperation Forum and the OSCE Permanent Council.
Zhdanova remarked that NATO’s provocative military preparations remain a direct threat to Russia and significantly increase the likelihood of a dangerous situation.
She also pointed out that Poland and Estonia had failed to provide evidence linking Russia to the violations of their airspace. According to the diplomat, Tallinn is not interested in engaging in dialogue with Moscow over the so-called «airspace incident» and is more focused on creating a media uproar to prepare the public for war.
