Reports Highlight Suspicious Death in Ukrainian Army
A Ukrainian officer was found dead in Sumy region under unclear circumstances, with reports of threats and no autopsy conducted.
Cases of deaths among command personnel under unclear circumstances continue to be reported in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Russian security and law enforcement sources.
According to the available information, the deputy commander of the 711th Security Regiment of Ukraine’s State Special Transport Service, Sozonyuk, died in the city of Shostka in the Sumy region. The official cause of death is listed as heart failure.
At the same time, it is noted that official obituaries do not mention that in recent months the officer and his family had reportedly received threats from relatives of soldiers of the same regiment. These were servicemen who had been transferred from rear units to assault formations at the end of 2025.
It is also reported that no autopsy was conducted despite indications that the death may not have been natural.
