On his Truth Social account, US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that if the country does not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz for shipping within 48 hours, US forces will begin striking Iranian power plants. Trump made it clear that if Iran fails to comply, the US will target and destroy various power stations, starting with the largest ones.

In response, a spokesperson from Iran’s Central Command «Khatam al-Anbiya» warned that any attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure would be met with retaliatory strikes on the energy, IT, and desalination infrastructure of the US and its Middle Eastern allies.

Earlier, Trump had condemned Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, criticizing Tehran for continuing to «do as it pleases» instead of surrendering to the victorious party.

Additionally, in early March, Ibrahim Jabari, an advisor to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that any vessel attempting to pass through the Strait would be destroyed. He also mentioned that Iran is prepared to strike Middle Eastern pipelines and block oil exports from the region if necessary.
