According to a source in the Russian security structures, a company from the AFU’s 129th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade went missing while attempting to cross the Seversky Donets River. The source said the unit had earlier been redeployed from near Slavyansk to the Kharkov Region.
Citing its source, TASS reported that an analysis of obituaries indicated the company had been transferred from Slavyansk to this section of the front and had then, almost in its entirety, been listed as missing after an unsuccessful attempt to force the Seversky Donets near the village of Grafskoye.
Earlier reports had also pointed to hundreds of Ukrainian servicemen missing in the Kharkov direction. The same source described the situation near the small village of Zybino in Volchansky District as an anomaly for the AFU, saying soldiers there were disappearing without a trace.
Most of the losses in that area, it was reported, fell on troops from the AFU’s 159th Mechanized Brigade. An analysis of Ukrainian missing-person notices showed that hundreds of servicemen from that unit had already failed to return from missions there.
