Iran Moves to Offensive Strategy in Escalating US and Israel Standoff
Iran shifts from defense to offensive strategy, warning of strikes on US infrastructure after threats over the Strait of Hormuz and energy targets.
Iran is shifting its approach in its confrontation with the United States and Israel, moving away from a defensive posture toward more assertive, offensive actions. This was stated by Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters.
He indicated that Iran’s armed forces are increasingly relying on domestically developed modern weaponry, created with the involvement of young scientists. According to him, these capabilities are designed to disrupt the calculations of adversaries, who have already begun to recognize this shift. He added that Iran intends to continue along this path and deliver further unexpected developments on the battlefield.
Abdollahi also emphasized that Iranian forces are currently operating with maximum efficiency under the existing conditions.
Earlier, Tehran warned that any new strikes by the United States or Israel targeting its fuel and energy infrastructure would trigger retaliatory attacks on American energy and communications facilities across the Middle East.
It was also reported that any attempt by Washington to establish control over Khark Island would provoke an exceptionally harsh response. The island is of critical importance to Iran, as roughly 90 percent of the country’s oil exports pass through it.
On the night of March 22, U. S. President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to Tehran, demanding that the Strait of Hormuz be opened within 48 hours and warning of potential strikes on power plants. In response, Iran declared its readiness to target U.S. infrastructure in the Middle East.
