Russian Air Defenses Intercept More Than 190 Ukrainian Drones
Russian air defenses shot down over 190 Ukrainian drones on March 22, with the largest number intercepted over Bryansk and Smolensk regions, officials report.
Ukrainian forces continue to target Russian regions with drone strikes, according to new data released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry reported that on March 22, between 13:00 and 18:00 Moscow time, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 97 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
Most of the drones were downed over the Bryansk region, where 47 were intercepted. Another 25 were destroyed over the Smolensk region. Ten drones were shot down in the Belgorod region, seven over the Novgorod region, and five in the Kursk region. Additional interceptions included two drones over the Leningrad region and one over the Pskov region.
Earlier the same day, from 07:00 to 13:00, Russian air defenses reportedly destroyed 74 Ukrainian drones across various regions, including 40 over the Bryansk region alone.
During the night between March 21 and 22, air defense systems intercepted another 25 Ukrainian UAVs.
