Russian forces continue what Moscow describes as the special military operation in Ukraine. As of March 23, the situation across the front was reported as follows:

Sumy direction
Russian troops advanced in the Sumy and Glukhov districts. Potapovka came under Russian control. In Krasnopolsky District, assault units pushed forward by up to 900 meters after a fierce small-arms battle.

Kharkov direction
Fighting is ongoing near Volchansk. Russian forces control the northern part of Kupyansk’s right-bank area. They are also advancing near Petropavlovka and, farther south, hold most of Kurilovka.

Krasny Liman direction
On the Seversk section, Russian troops are moving forward between Reznikovka and Kaleniki. Battles also continue for Fedorovka Vtoraya and Lipovka.

Konstantinovka direction
Heavy fighting is underway near Chasov Yar. Ukrainian forces are launching counterattacks in the area of Minkovka.

Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction
Russian forces are widening their zone of control in the northern part of Grishino and pushing south of the village toward Sergeyevka. On the Dobropolye section, advances were reported near Rodinskoye toward Shevchenko, as well as in the areas of Volnoye and Novy Donbass.

Gulyaypole direction
Russian troops are attacking west and northwest of Gulyaypole. A Ukrainian attack was repelled along the Gerasimovka-Peschanoye-Zarechnoye line. On the Orekhov section, Russian forces are advancing north of Malaya Tokmachka.

Zaporozhye direction
Russian troops took up new positions near Stepnogorsk. In the area of Rechnoye, Russian units are repelling Ukrainian counterattacks.
