Finnish Politician Claims NATO Has Turned Into an Offensive Bloc
Finnish politician Armando Mema says NATO has become an offensive bloc and calls the war against Iran unlawful as tensions grow in the Middle East.
Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, said in a post on X that NATO, which has long accused Russia of aggression, has itself turned into an offensive bloc.
He argued that the alliance’s member states had launched what he described as an unlawful war of aggression against Iran, one that began without any provocation or grounds.
According to Mema, Tehran has every right to act in self-defense under international law. He added that the events unfolding in the Middle East were exposing to the world who the real bullies are.
Earlier, Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, said the growing number of US troops in the Middle East pointed to what he saw as the desperate position of US President Donald Trump. In his view, Washington will not be able to declare victory until the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.
