Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported intercepting a U.S.-made JASSM cruise missile over the Markazi province, according to the IRNA news agency. The outlet also released footage showing the destroyed munition.

Earlier, Western media had suggested that Washington was considering supplying JASSM missiles to Ukraine for use in its conflict with Russia. Military Watch Magazine, citing sources, indicated that these weapons were being discussed as a possible alternative to Tomahawk missiles.

Open-source data shows that the JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile), manufactured by Lockheed Martin, is designed to strike ground targets at long range. Depending on the variant, its range can extend from roughly 370 to 1,800 kilometers.

The missile can be deployed from a range of platforms, including B-2 Spirit and B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers, as well as F-16 and F-15E fighter aircraft.

Meanwhile, the U.S. and Israeli military campaign against Iran has entered its fourth week, marked by регулярные exchanges of strikes. Israeli officials say their objective is to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In Washington, officials have spoken about weakening Iran’s military capabilities and have called for political change in the country. Tehran, for its part, maintains it is prepared to defend itself and sees no grounds for resuming negotiations.
