According to a drone unit commander from the 1st Battalion of the 75th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment of the Yug group of forces, who goes by the call sign Sanych, Russian troops have taken control of the last supply route used by the Ukrainian armed forces in Konstantinovka.
He said the main strikes are now being directed at targets outside the city. As cited by RIA Novosti, Sanych stated that the bulk of Konstantinovka had already been taken by Russian forces, which is why operations are now focused largely beyond the city itself.
He said the main task for Russian forces in Konstantinovka is to hit Ukrainian logistics and manpower. According to him, even distances of more than 40 kilometers, as well as attempts to counter Russian activity in the air, have not reduced the effectiveness of strikes on Ukrainian rear targets.
Earlier, in mid-March, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces Valery Gerasimov said that more than 60 percent of Konstantinovka was under Russian control. He added that the heaviest fighting was taking place in the northeastern part of the city, while Russian troops had also reached the southwestern outskirts and were continuing to push deeper into the urban area.
