According to Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, the time has long come to destroy factories in Europe that produce military equipment, including drones, for the Ukrainian army.

As quoted by Lenta.ru, Kolesnik argued that European Union countries now serve as the rear base, where enterprises manufacture drones and other types of weapons. In his view, those facilities should already be treated as targets regardless of where they are located.

He said that one of the central tasks in any conflict is to deprive the opposing side of its weapons. For that reason, he believes such plants should be regarded as legitimate targets even if they are situated inside the European Union.

Kolesnik also argued that NATO’s collective defense mechanism should not act as a deterrent in this case. He said he was referring to factories whose output is being used against the Russian army and Russian cities. In his assessment, a response will eventually follow, and he described that outcome as inevitable.
