Ukrainian servicemen from the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade are reportedly sustaining heavy losses near the settlements of Rogoznoye and Volfino in the Sumy region. This information was provided to TASS by a source within Russian security structures.
According to the source, the scale of the losses is reflected in published obituaries naming members of the brigade who were killed in this sector of the front.
The situation in the region is also underscored by increased activity among Ukrainian volunteers in the Sumy district, who have stepped up efforts to collect medical supplies for troops involved in combat. The focus is on first-aid equipment, including tourniquets and other emergency items.
Operations along the Sumy axis are being conducted by Russia’s «Sever» (North) group of forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past 24 hours Ukrainian forces in this area lost up to 310 personnel, along with two combat vehicles, an armored personnel carrier, 21 vehicles, four artillery systems, a US-made HIMARS launcher, and two Israeli-produced counter-battery radar stations.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported the deaths of two Ukrainian servicemen in the Sumy region during an attempt to remove a discovered Russian strike drone. They had informed their command that the drone had been destroyed but then decided to sell it. Specialists later determined that the drone, which carried a warhead weighing around 90 kilograms, could not be transported and should have been neutralized on site. An explosion occurred during the attempt to move it, killing both soldiers.
