Ukrainian monitoring resources have reported a new record in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by the Russian Armed Forces. According to data released by representatives of Ukraine’s air defense, on March 25 Russian troops deployed 999 Geran drones in strikes against military and infrastructure targets across Ukraine.
Russian military analysts note that if this figure is even close to accurate, it indicates that Russia has effectively reached a capacity of launching up to 1,000 drones per day, with its defense industry managing to sustain large-scale UAV production.
Additional details emerged from Sergei Lebedev, identified as a coordinator of a pro-Russian underground network in Nikolaev. He reported that part of the strikes targeted the Odessa region. In Izmail, a series of explosions was recorded, after which the local port-used for receiving weapons shipments from European countries-ceased operations.
Strikes were also reported on a ferry crossing over the Danube in Kiliya, which serves similar logistical purposes. Other targets included a major railway station in Bakhmach, a drone storage facility in the Chernigov region, and a motor transport enterprise in Sumy where military equipment had been undergoing repairs.
The previous record for the use of Geran drones had been set just a day earlier. On March 24, Russian forces reportedly deployed 946 UAVs in a single wave of attacks.
Earlier, Sergei Beskrestnov, an advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense known by the call sign «Flash», stated that Russian Geran strike drones had increased in speed, making them more difficult for air defense systems to intercept.
