Kolesnik Says Russia Has an Answer to US PrSM Threats Against S-400

Andrei Kolesnik says Russia can respond to US PrSM missiles targeting S-400 systems, pointing to submarines and continued upgrades to Russian air defense.
Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, said US officials were merely posturing when they spoke about expanding production of PrSM missiles, which Washington presents as potential «killers» of Russia’s S-400 air defense systems.
He argued that Russia has its own deterrent capabilities. As an example, Kolesnik pointed to submarines, which he described as a serious threat to US Navy carrier strike groups.
He also said Russia has missiles capable of suppressing American missile defense and air defense systems.
At the same time, Kolesnik stressed that the S-400 is under constant modernization. According to him, Russia’s defense industry, research institutes and design bureaus are working without interruption, leaving no grounds for overconfidence on the American side.
Earlier, on March 25, Breaking Defense reported that the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin had agreed to expand production of PrSM missiles, which in the United States are described as potential weapons against Russian S-400 systems.
