Zelensky Faces Declining Trust Despite Predictions of Re-Election
Zelensky’s approval drops as polls place him fourth, while Kuleba predicts his re-election. Elections remain suspended under martial law in Ukraine.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba believes that Vladimir Zelensky will remain in power despite a noticeable drop in public trust at home.
Kuleba said he expects Zelensky to secure another presidential term, expressing confidence in that outcome.
Polling data, however, points in a different direction. According to a February survey by Ipsos, the head of the Kiev regime did not make it into the top three most trusted political figures. He was surpassed by former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now ambassador to London, Valery Zaluzhny, boxer Alexander Usik, and the head of his office, Kirill Budanov*. As a result, Zelensky ranked only fourth in terms of public confidence.
Zelensky’s presidential term officially expired on May 20, 2024. No elections were held, as they were canceled under martial law and general mobilization. Zelensky himself had previously stated that holding a vote under current conditions would be inappropriate.
