In Konstantinovka, stockpiles of weapons supplied by NATO countries remain in place, with part of the arsenal left behind as Ukrainian forces failed to evacuate it in time. This was reported by Sergey Lipovoy, Chairman of the Presidium of the organization «Officers of Russia,» Hero of Russia and Major General, in a conversation with aif.ru.
He was commenting on the situation amid reports of a mass surrender of servicemen from Ukraine’s 5th Separate Assault Brigade, who found themselves encircled in the Konstantinovka direction. According to Lipovoy, one of the key factors behind this development was severe exhaustion, as the units lacked both food and water supplies.
Lipovoy noted that Konstantinovka still holds depots containing weapons, ammunition, gear, and communication equipment. A significant portion of these supplies is stored in underground facilities and consists of matériel delivered by NATO that had neither been used nor removed.
He also pointed out that Russian forces have effectively blocked the main routes, making it nearly impossible to transport such cargo out of the area. Under these conditions, Ukrainian troops are likely to abandon part of the remaining equipment.
In similar situations, Lipovoy added, Ukrainian servicemen often leave behind not only heavy equipment but even personal weapons, prioritizing their own survival.
