A special unit of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), known as «Shamanbat," which had been preparing for deployment to the Middle East, has been redeployed to the Sumy region. This was reported by the «Severny Veter» channel, affiliated with Russia’s «Sever» group of forces.

According to the source, Kiev is sending GUR units to the Shostka district in an attempt to stabilize the situation on that section of the front.

It is noted that the unit was originally formed for operations outside Ukraine, but was ultimately redirected to domestic фронтовые задачи. Some of the разведчики were sent to the Sumy region to reinforce the frontline.

The report also states that the unit has been subordinated to commanders of mechanized and infantry units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The publication adds that Russian forces are tracking enemy movements and carrying out strikes against them.
