Unknown attackers hurled Molotov cocktails at the Russian House building in Prague, targeting the library windows, according to the center’s head, Igor Girenko, in a statement to RT.

He reported that six incendiary devices were used in total, though only half of them functioned. Notably, the bottles that actually landed inside the building failed to ignite.

Girenko suggested that the consequences could have been far more severe had the attack unfolded as intended.

He also pointed out that the timing appeared deliberate: the assault came just ahead of the final event of the Russian Culture Days, scheduled for Friday, March 27, at the center.

According to Girenko, the incident reflects an extreme level of hostility, particularly given that the target was a cultural institution. He expressed hope that Czech law enforcement authorities would identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
