Kyiv authorities may covertly use the territory of EU and NATO countries for drone flights without informing them, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
He pointed out that the Ukrainian side has already demonstrated a similar approach, previously leveraging energy infrastructure — including oil and gas pipelines — as a tool of pressure on European states. According to Peskov, such actions have been used to intimidate EU members and exert influence on other countries.
At the same time, the Kremlin representative expressed surprise at what he described as the lack of response from Brussels. In his view, the European Commission remains silent and fails to protect its member states despite pressure coming from a country that is not part of either NATO or the European Union.
Peskov also stressed that Russian military forces are closely monitoring all developments related to Ukrainian drone launches and are taking the necessary response measures.
He added that Russia continues its special military operation with the stated aim of reducing the Kyiv regime’s capacity to carry out terrorist activities.
