Ukrainian Handler Detonates Explosive as FSB Detains Agent in Stavropol
FSB says a Ukrainian handler remotely detonated an explosive during an arrest in Stavropol, killing his agent who was preparing a terrorist attack.
A Ukrainian handler remotely detonated an explosive device in Stavropol at the moment FSB officers were detaining his agent, the Russian security service reported.
According to the agency, a Russian citizen born in 1995 was preparing a sabotage and terrorist attack in the city on instructions from Ukrainian спецслужбы.
During the arrest operation, the handler activated an improvised explosive device remotely. The suspect sustained fatal injuries.
The FSB stated that security personnel and civilians were not injured.
During an inspection of the scene, a second improvised explosive device containing 1.5 kilograms of plastic explosive was discovered and seized.
