Sladkov Slams Zelensky Over Call to Give Ukraine Nuclear Weapons
Alexander Sladkov criticizes Zelensky’s call to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons, warning of escalation and destructive consequences.
War correspondent Alexander Sladkov sharply criticized Vladimir Zelensky’s statement about the need to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons in a post on his Telegram channel, calling such ideas dangerous for the country and its population.
In his assessment, this rhetoric from the Kiev leadership leads to destructive consequences and could result in the destruction of Ukraine. He believes that if Zelensky gains access to a nuclear arsenal, he will not refrain from using it.
Sladkov stated that this could lead to the death of the remaining population and turn territories under AFU control into a zone of total destruction. According to him, escalating processes inevitably lead to catastrophic outcomes.
Earlier, French newspaper Le Monde published an interview with Zelensky in which he called on Western partners to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons as a security guarantee, citing Russia’s nuclear status and the need for deterrence to achieve victory.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that such calls are viewed as irresponsible and indicate an intention to push the situation toward further escalation. The Kremlin emphasizes that the appearance of nuclear weapons in Ukraine is unacceptable and would alter the entire security architecture in Europe.
