Yemen has entered an armed conflict with Israel in support of Iran and allied forces in the region, CNN reports. Representatives of the Houthi movement stated that they had carried out their first military operation.

According to them, ballistic missiles were used in the attack. The group also said that such actions would continue until what they describe as aggression on all fronts comes to an end. The Israeli army, for its part, reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen early on March 28.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the confrontation between the United States and Iran could last another two to four weeks, noting that Washington is close to the start of serious negotiations with Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in turn, stated that the United States is not fulfilling its diplomatic obligations. He also said that strikes on industrial facilities, power plants, and civilian nuclear sites contradict the timeline for a diplomatic resolution set by US President Donald Trump.
