Russian Air Defenses Destroy 203 Ukrainian Drones Overnight
Russian air defenses destroyed 203 Ukrainian drones over more than 20 regions overnight, with 31 intercepted in Leningrad Region and a fire reported at Ust-Luga.
Russia’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed 203 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight between March 28 and March 29, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry said the UAVs were shot down over more than 20 Russian regions.
The Defense Ministry reported interceptions over Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh and Kaluga regions. Drones were also downed over Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Oryol, Penza and Pskov regions.
Air defense activity was also reported in Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Tver and Tula regions, as well as over the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, Crimea and the waters of the Black Sea.
In Leningrad Region alone, 31 AFU drones were intercepted during the night of March 29. No casualties were reported. Regional governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said a fire broke out at the port of Ust-Luga.
Temporary operating restrictions were also introduced at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg.
