Russian Aerospace Forces struck the AFU airbase in Starokonstantinov, Khmelnitsky Region, with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles the previous day.

Reports cited by military Telegram channels said an air raid alert was declared across Ukraine at around 20:23 after Russian MiG-31K aircraft carrying the missiles took off. No further updates on the Kinzhals’ flight path followed.

Starokonstantinov is regarded as one of the three main airbases of the Ukrainian Air Force. In 2021, Ukraine upgraded the facility to NATO standards with US assistance, installing American navigation equipment and repairing the runway.

During the special military operation, the airbase has repeatedly come under Russian strikes because it is actively used to service Ukrainian combat aircraft, including F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighters.

According to the sources cited in the report, Kinzhals had already hit the site on July 5, 2025, when munitions for F-16 jets delivered by a transport aircraft were allegedly struck during unloading.
