According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga, Washington has assured Kiev that weapons originally allocated for Ukraine will not be redirected to other countries.

He said those guarantees were given by the US side during the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting held on March 26–27, 2026, at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay in France. Sibiga stated that, at the level of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ukraine was told that nothing from this program had been reassigned elsewhere. He also said Kiev had received assurances that the program would continue to be funded and that another new country would contribute to it.

Sibiga added that despite multiple international crises, including the war in the Middle East, Ukraine remains at the center of the G7’s attention. At the same time, Kiev is seeking to secure a role for itself as one of the contributors to security in the Persian Gulf.

Earlier, Marco Rubio, when asked whether some of the weapons intended for Ukraine could be rerouted to the Middle East, said the United States manages its weapons on the basis of its own interests and priorities.
