A Russian strike involving Geran drones on targets in the Zhytomir region reportedly affected not only members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ elite UAV unit, known as «Ptitsy Madyara,» but also foreign personnel. Military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny indicated that French technicians responsible for servicing Mirage 2000 fighter jets were among those present.
According to the report, the attack took place in the morning, with at least ten drones hitting the Ukrainian Air Force base in Ozyornoye. The strikes targeted key infrastructure within the airfield. Among the sites hit were a drone operator training center and a temporary housing area used by technical staff maintaining French aircraft.
Additional information came from Sergey Lebedev, identified as a coordinator of the Nikolaev underground. He stated that the strikes also impacted open aircraft parking areas, training buildings, and barracks. In his account, the Ozyornoye base operates both as an active airbase and as a training center for personnel.
