Units of Russia’s «Sever» (North) grouping have taken control of the settlement of Malaya Korchakovka in the Sumy region during active operations, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry reported that strikes targeted positions and equipment belonging to a Ukrainian Armed Forces mechanized brigade, as well as territorial defense units, in the areas of Potapovka, Miropolye, Chervonaya Zarya, and Kondratovka.

At the same time, in the Kharkov region, Russian forces engaged formations of Ukrainian mechanized and motorized infantry brigades, along with two territorial defense brigades. Fighting was reported near Zhovtnevoye, Bely Kolodez, Volchanskiye Khutora, Verkhnyaya Pisarevka, and Izybitskoye.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses exceeded 270 personnel. Seven vehicles were destroyed, along with three ammunition depots, a fuel storage facility, and eight supply warehouses.

A day earlier, on March 30, the ministry stated that Russian troops had taken control of two other settlements — Novoosinovo in the Kharkov region and Lugovskoye in the Zaporozhye region.

Earlier, sources within Russian security structures indicated that Ukraine’s 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade had suffered heavy losses near Rogoznoye and Volfino in the Sumy region. As evidence, they pointed to published obituaries mentioning servicemen from the unit who had been killed.
