Knutov: Baltic Airspace Used by Drones Flying Toward Russia
Analyst Yury Knutov says Ukrainian drones use Baltic airspace to reach Russia, calling it a sign of involvement and urging a response.
Military analyst and head of the Air Defense Forces History Museum Yury Knutov stated that by allowing Ukrainian drones to pass through their airspace toward the Leningrad region, the Baltic states have effectively entered into a conflict with Russia.
According to him, changes in drone flight routes have significantly reduced the distance, making it easier for them to reach their targets. He noted that the drones fly over Poland, Estonia, and Latvia, and after entering Russian airspace, they require only a short time to carry out an attack.
Knutov said that the use of Estonian and Latvian territory for such strikes can be regarded as direct involvement, as in his view it is equivalent to launching drones from those territories. In this context, he stated that NATO countries are directly participating in strikes against Russia.
He also expressed the position that if such situations continue, Russia should consider destroying these drones over the territories of those countries rather than over its own airspace.
According to him, despite a likely negative reaction, he considers such measures justified and necessary as a response.
