US President Donald Trump has said Washington will no longer defend the interests of countries that declined to support the American military operation against Iran.

According to him, states now facing disruptions in aviation fuel supplies due to tensions around the Strait of Hormuz — including the United Kingdom, which chose not to «take part in the decapitation of Iran» — should rely on their own resources. Trump suggested they purchase fuel from the United States and independently secure access to regional energy supplies.

He made it clear that those countries would have to learn to fend for themselves, arguing that the US would no longer assist partners who, in his view, had failed to support Washington. Trump also claimed that Iran had effectively been destroyed and that the most difficult phase of the operation was already over, urging others to move forward and extract their own oil.

The US and Israel’s military campaign against Iran has been ongoing for about a month. During this period, both sides have carried out регуляр strikes, sharply escalating tensions across the region. As a result, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz — a critical route for oil and liquefied natural gas exports from the Persian Gulf — has been nearly paralyzed.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, who has taken part in closed briefings on the operation, said Washington’s actions lack a coherent strategy. In his assessment, this has led the United States toward what he described as a humiliating setback in the conflict.
