US President Donald Trump said that the military operation against Iran may be completed within two to three weeks. He told reporters at the White House that Washington sees no reason to continue the campaign beyond that timeframe.
According to him, the United States intends to end the operation regardless of whether Tehran agrees to a deal with Washington.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump aims to reach an agreement with Iran by April 6.
At the same time, The Washington Post, citing sources, reported that the United States is considering preparations for a possible ground operation that could last from several weeks to a few months.
The US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Strikes were carried out on multiple cities, including the capital. It is reported that one of the strikes hit the residence of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and he was killed. In response, Iran is carrying out missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities and Washington’s allies in the region.
