The slowdown in the advance of Russian forces is linked to seasonal conditions and preparations for further offensive actions, military correspondent Pavel Kukushkin said on the Izolenta video blog.

According to him, the spring thaw traditionally affects the pace of combat operations, as it complicates logistics, including the delivery of ammunition, fuel, and supplies. He stressed that this factor is especially critical for the attacking side, since the effectiveness of operations directly depends on supply lines.

Kukushkin noted that similar slowdowns occur during the autumn season and are reflected in the current situation on the front line.

At the same time, he said that active preparations are underway for the spring-summer campaign. He pointed out that with the onset of so-called «green cover," when vegetation begins to grow, and with roads drying out, conditions for offensive operations will improve.

He also stated that it is incorrect to speak of an overall slowdown in tempo, as actions are being carried out with consideration of the situation and with the aim of reducing casualties. According to him, offensive operations begin only after full reconnaissance and assessment of conditions in specific sectors.
