Ukrainian Platoon Disappears as Russian Forces Take Boykovo
A Ukrainian platoon went missing near Vozdvizhevka as Russian forces reported capturing Boykovo and destroying drones and armored vehicles in Zaporozhye.
A full platoon from Ukraine’s 210th Separate Assault Regiment has gone missing in the Zaporozhye Region, according to Russian law enforcement sources cited by media outlets.
The source said the unit disappeared near the village of Vozdvizhevka, with no information on the soldiers’ fate. The area, he added, has been subjected to heavy strikes using Russian high-explosive aerial bombs.
He also reported that troops from Russia’s «East» force grouping eliminated more than a company of what he described as elite Ukrainian units near Boykovo, also in the Zaporozhye Region.
On April 1, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that Boykovo had been taken under control. The ministry described the location as a fortified defensive position covering more than five square kilometers. It also stated that Russian forces destroyed 12 Baba Yaga drones, nine pickup vehicles and five armored combat vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian military.
According to the same source, the capture of Boykovo creates new opportunities for Russian forces to advance westward, potentially extending control toward the Verkhnyaya Tersa River.
