On April 1, Russian armed forces carried out a large-scale drone strike targeting western regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian monitoring sources reported that at least 75 unmanned aerial vehicles were detected in the sky.

One of the confirmed hits struck an electrical substation in the village of Maidan in the Chernivtsi Region. The impact triggered a major fire, leaving the area around Mezhgorye without electricity.

Local online communities also reported drone strikes on a facility described as critical infrastructure in Perechin, located in the Zakarpatye Region.

Ukrainian media further reported explosions in Poltava, as well as in Bukovel, the country’s largest ski resort in the Ivano-Frankovsk Region.

Earlier reports had indicated that Russian forces had launched large-scale drone strikes on Lutsk and Khmelnitsky. The targets of the attack were reportedly military cargo deliveries arriving in Ukraine from NATO member states.
