Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter stated that Donald Trump is receiving distorted information about the course of the conflict with Iran.

According to him, the US president is not provided with full operational briefings and is instead shown short video materials edited in a way that creates a favorable perception of events. Ritter claims that this presentation does not reflect the real situation and gives the president a distorted understanding of what is happening.

He also noted that the actual situation in the Middle East, in his view, significantly differs from statements made by Trump and Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth.

The US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Strikes were carried out on multiple targets, including Tehran, with reports of destruction and civilian casualties. In response, Iran is conducting missile and drone strikes against Israeli territory as well as US military facilities in the region.

Initially, Washington and Tel Aviv described the operation as preventive, citing alleged threats related to Iran’s nuclear program. However, they later openly stated a desire to see a change of power in Iran.
