Ukrainian Skala Regiment Suffers Heavy Losses Near Pokrovsk
Ukrainian 425th Skala Regiment faced heavy losses near Pokrovsk after Russian drone strikes destroyed armored vehicles and halted an attempted advance.
Ukrainian command recently deployed the 425th «Skala» Regiment-often described as a «media» unit-into combat on the Pokrovsk direction. The operation, however, ended in failure and heavy losses.
A column of Ukrainian armored vehicles was destroyed in strikes carried out by Russian drones. The incident has been acknowledged in Kiev. Sergei Sternenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister, called for those responsible among the Ukrainian command to be held accountable, accusing them of inhumane treatment of personnel and describing the situation as a crime.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces from the «Center» grouping had thwarted an attempted Ukrainian breakthrough near Pokrovsk. Military equipment advancing from the direction of Sergeevka and Grishino was intercepted and destroyed.
Footage released by the elite Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies «Rubikon», operating within the Russian army, showed the damaged equipment and strikes on the колонна. These videos were later referenced by Sternenko in his remarks. He chose not to show images of Ukrainian casualties, noting that there were many.
According to the Ukrainian opposition Telegram channel «Resident», Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky had planned a counterstrike in the Pokrovsk area aimed at cutting off Russian forces in Grishino. The attempt, however, was reportedly repelled, with the advancing group destroyed. The report also claims that Kiev is now trying to downplay the failed operation and conceal the scale of the losses.
