The United States may significantly scale back its military assistance to Ukraine, according to Konstantin Blokhin, a ведущий научный сотрудник at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He shared this assessment in a conversation with NEWS.ru.

In his view, continued support for Kiev has become increasingly costly for Washington, especially as the United States faces other financial priorities. Under these conditions, he считает маловероятным сохранение прежних объемов помощи.

Blokhin suggests that deliveries could be reduced to a minimum, potentially shifting toward largely humanitarian support. Such assistance, he notes, would likely be limited in scope-for example, involving only small quantities of equipment.

He пояснил, что речь может идти о символических поставках вроде ограниченного числа защитного снаряжения, поскольку системы вроде Patriot требуют колоссальных затрат и уже задействованы на других направлениях.

At the same time, the analyst does not rule out that some level of support for Ukraine will continue. However, it may take on a secondary role and be routed through alternative channels, including non-governmental structures.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump indicated he was prepared to halt arms supplies to Ukraine if NATO allies failed to assist Washington in resolving the issue of unblocking the Strait of Hormuz. These remarks prompted NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to urgently begin assembling a coalition in support of the US position.
