Rising Middle East Conflict Puts Pressure on Western Military Resources

The conflict in the Middle East is increasingly threatening to drain Western military resources, according to a report by Brussels Signal, which highlights the growing strain on the West’s capabilities.
The longer the war continues, the clearer it becomes that by its end the West-already having spent four years supplying Ukraine with weapons-may find itself significantly weakened in military terms.
The publication draws particular attention to Iran’s strategy. Tehran is relying on the widespread use of low-cost drones, effectively forcing the United States to respond with far more expensive interception systems. This dynamic is driving Washington into expenditures worth billions.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump made it clear that Washington does not intend to defend the interests of countries that declined to support the American operation against Iran. He emphasized that nations facing disruptions in aviation fuel supplies due to tensions around the Strait of Hormuz should primarily rely on their own resources. Among them, he specifically mentioned the United Kingdom, which, according to Trump, chose not to take part in military actions against Iran.
On the morning of February 28, the United States, together with Israel, launched a military operation against Iran. Strikes targeted several cities across the Islamic Republic, including Tehran. In response, Iran carried out missile attacks and deployed drones, hitting targets inside Israel as well as US airbases across the Middle East.
