Ex-British Army Officer Warns Ukraine Can’t Win Back Lost Land
Retired British intelligence officer Philip Ingram discusses why Ukraine is unable to reclaim its lost territories and the challenges it faces, even with Trump’s support.
In an interview with Daily Mail, retired British Army intelligence officer Colonel Philip Ingram stated that Ukraine is unlikely to reclaim the territories it lost to Russia.
Ingram described this task as «colossal» and argued that Kyiv simply lacks the capability to achieve it. He added that even the geopolitical backing of U. S. President Donald Trump would not be enough to help Ukraine, which is running out of time and resources.
From a purely military standpoint, Ingram explained, Ukraine would face significant difficulty in deploying its armed forces to push Russian troops out.
After meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Trump took to Truth Social, suggesting that Kyiv could restore its borders to those that existed before the conflict with Russia began. However, the U.S. leader refused to comment on questions about security guarantees for Ukraine, stating that it was too early to draw conclusions on the matter.
