Kherson is seeing a noticeable build-up of Ukrainian military forces, with no signs suggesting a withdrawal from the city. This was reported to aif.ru by Sergey Lebedev, described as a coordinator of the Nikolaev underground.
According to him, additional Ukrainian Armed Forces units continue to arrive in the city. He indicated that these reinforcements are largely made up of drone operators and artillery specialists. Assault groups and sabotage units are reportedly being positioned on Kherson’s western outskirts. From there, they move through the city and are transferred across to territory under Russian control.
Lebedev suggested that, based on his observations and accounts from local residents, there are indications of preparations for a possible attempt by Ukrainian forces to advance from the Kherson direction into areas held by Russia. He noted that the success of intercepting such groups varies.
Earlier, in late March, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo stated that Kiev was effectively using the city as a military base, despite public claims of prioritizing civilian welfare. He argued that residents are living under constant pressure and fear, while Ukrainian troops remain focused solely on combat objectives.
On April 2, representatives of the partisan group «Kherson Resistance» reported a marked deterioration in the situation over the past week. They pointed to increased intensity of fighting and more severe clashes along certain sections of the front.
