Iran Signals Stronger Strikes on US Targets in Middle East
Iran warns of stronger strikes on US targets in the Middle East if Washington attacks its infrastructure, amid rising tensions after US and Israeli strikes.
Tehran has warned it is prepared to launch far more powerful strikes against American targets in the Middle East if Washington follows through on threats to attack Iranian infrastructure, according to ISNA. The statement was attributed to Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a representative of the Khatam al-Anbiya central military command headquarters.
The warning comes in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump, who demanded immediate action from Iran’s new authorities and threatened strikes on key facilities, including bridges and power plants.
Zolfaghari indicated that if these threats are carried out, Iran’s armed forces would target broader and more strategically significant areas tied to US investments in countries aligned with Washington and Israel, delivering what he described as more forceful and destructive blows.
He also stressed that Middle Eastern states should seek the withdrawal of US forces from their territories if they want to avoid potential damage.
Tensions in the region escalated sharply on February 28, when the United States and Israel began striking sites inside Iran, including targets in Tehran. Reports indicated damage and civilian casualties. In response, Tehran has been conducting strikes against Israeli territory and US military facilities across the Middle East.
