Mass Drone Attack Hits Multiple Russian Regions Overnight
Russian air defenses shot down 85 drones overnight across several regions, with casualties, damage to a ship and buildings reported.
Air defense systems destroyed 85 drones overnight across multiple regions of Russia, the Defense Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, fixed-wing drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, and Tula regions, as well as over Crimea and the Black Sea.
Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said in the morning that drone debris damaged a foreign-flagged cargo vessel in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov. In Taganrog, one person was killed and four others were injured as a result of the attack.
In Tolyatti, a worker at an industrial enterprise was wounded during the drone strike, sustaining shrapnel injuries. In the Samara region, one drone hit the roof of a residential building, causing damage.
On the night of April 4, airports in Saratov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Kaluga, and Samara temporarily suspended operations. All of them later resumed flights.
