Adviser to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, reserve lieutenant colonel Oleg Ivannikov said that responsibility for the possible loss of Donbass could be placed on Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky.
In an interview with aif.ru, he stated that Syrsky’s dismissal is already being discussed in the office of the Ukrainian president. Ivannikov also did not rule out that the commander could face not only removal from his post but also criminal prosecution.
In his assessment, if Ukrainian forces withdraw from Donbass, Syrsky could be presented as the main figure responsible for the outcome and used as a scapegoat for the situation.
