According to captured Ukrainian serviceman Anatoly Dergach, an attempted assault on the village of Sladkoye in Zaporozhye Region ended in near-total losses for a Ukrainian Armed Forces company.

He said he was one of only 11 men left alive from the entire company. The others who survived had been wounded before they even reached the village. Dergach specified that in mid-March, a 53-man unit from the 1st Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was redeployed to the settlement of Ternovatoye. From there, the troops were ordered to attack Sladkoye in small groups.

In his account, only about 40 men made it as far as the village itself. Of that number, Dergach said he was the only one to survive, after surrendering.

He also indicated that the 53-man group had effectively been reduced to around ten men over the course of one to two weeks.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that on November 10, 2025, Sladkoye came under Russian control. At the same time, Russian forces also took Novoye in Zaporozhye Region and Gnatovka in the DPR.
