The front line near Dobropolye has emerged as one of the most volatile sectors in the conflict zone. Units from Russia’s «Center» military grouping are actively engaged there, reporting daily Ukrainian losses of around 300 personnel along with dozens of pieces of equipment.
Russian forces continue offensive operations around Rodinskoye, Grishino, Sergeevka, and Novoalexandrovka. According to military correspondent Yury Kotyonok, Russian troops have taken control of the settlement of Novy Donbass, where clearing operations are currently underway.
Securing this position opens a path toward the eastern outskirts of Dobropolye and increases pressure on the city from the south. Kotyonok indicated that Russian units had broken through Ukrainian defenses at the junction between Belitskoye and Novy Donbass, while fighting in Vodyanoye has turned into direct engagements.
Ukrainian forces, however, are holding ground in the northeastern part of Dobropolye and are attempting counterattacks west of Rodinskoye. Heavy fighting is ongoing there, including near a local mine.
Russian troops are also advancing between Shevchenko and Novoalexandrovka. Reports from the field suggest a breach in Ukrainian defensive lines, with combat shifting toward the southern outskirts as Russian units push forward from the direction of Grishino.
Sources say Ukraine is reinforcing the area in an effort to slow the advance despite mounting losses. The outcome may hinge on control over key supply routes, particularly the road linking Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka. If that route is cut, the Ukrainian garrison in Konstantinovka could face serious logistical difficulties.
Clashes have also been reported near Osykovo, where Polish mercenaries had previously been spotted. Available information suggests these units suffered losses and were forced to retreat.
Analysts warn that losing Dobropolye would mean Ukraine forfeiting control over the western boundary of the Dnepropetrovsk region.
