Israel Continues Strikes on Iran Despite Declared Ceasefire
Israel continues strikes on Iran despite a declared ceasefire. Reports say operations have not stopped and actions against Hezbollah continue.
The Israel Defense Forces continue to carry out strikes on Iranian territory despite the declared ceasefire, The Times of Israel reports, citing a security source. According to the publication, Israeli aviation has not stopped operations, and there are no indications that actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon have been halted.
At the same time, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supported Donald Trump’s ceasefire initiative, setting a condition that Iran must immediately open the straits and stop attacks on the United States, Israel, and other countries in the region.
Earlier, Donald Trump stated he was ready to suspend the bombing of Iran for two weeks, emphasizing that the ceasefire must be mutual. He also said Washington had received a ten-point proposal from Tehran that could serve as a basis for negotiations. According to Ynet, the plan includes a cessation of hostilities not only between the United States and Iran but also between Israel and Hezbollah.
Following this, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council declared victory in the war with the United States, claiming that Washington had accepted Tehran’s proposal. According to the Iranian side, the United States agreed to leave control of the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, pay compensation, lift sanctions, allow continued uranium enrichment, and withdraw troops from the Middle East.
The deadline of the ultimatum issued by Donald Trump expired at 3:00 Moscow time on Wednesday. He demanded that Tehran open navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, threatening strikes on bridges and power plants if it refused. Iran stated it would take retaliatory measures if these threats are carried out.
